Greetings cyclists,
the 2016 cycling season is fast approaching, or already here if you are in Australia and what a start to the racing season for Canadians as Mike Woods showed his stuff on Corkscrew hill at the Tour Down Under.  If we are to have a race season here in the Valley we need to get it organized, so we have set up a meeting for February 4 at 6:30pm at the Courtney Quality Foods upstairs meeting room.  At this meeting we need to :

– elect a club President
-elect a race director, (someone to organize race day setup and volunteers)
-decide as a club race courses and dates
– the positions of VP , secretary and treasurer are also open for nominations

Old timers in the club are willing to help with some of the paperwork for races (permission to use roads applications, Cycling BC insurance and membership applications etc). so, if you stand for a position there will be assistance.
At this time we have one volunteer standing to run the Time Trial series from mid April to mid July on Thursday nights again.

If you wish to have a local road race series you need to come out February 4 at 6:30pm , upstairs community room Courtenay Quality Foods.  See you there.
